Procedure for addressing parents queries on insurance
A copy of the HSC current certificate of insurance will be displayed on the Club notice board. Details of the cover held by the club will be accessible by members and non-members from the HSC web. For further information, members should contact any member of the Club’s Management Committee. If the Committee Member is not able to answer a query immediately, they will seek clarification and ensure the parent is notified either verbal or in writing within 3 weeks of the query being raised.
HSC Policy on Travel Expenses for Volunteer Teachers and Coaches
HSC will reimburse Volunteer Teachers and Coaches such mileage costs incurred over and above the first 10 miles of any single return journey undertaken in connection with their responsibilities within the club. Teachers/Coaches wishing to claim such expenses should submit a claim in writing to the Treasurer outlining the details (date, journey, total mileage, mileage being claimed) for each journey. Expenses will be reimbursed at the ASA Regional mileage rate current at the time. It should be noted, however, that the Club will not reimburse expenses if a son/daughter is travelling with the teacher/coach for the purpose of swimming during the same swim session.
HSC Pricing Policy
HSC will at all times operate a pricing scheme which discounts the cost of membership for a second child and all other subsequent children from the same family. In case of genuine hardship, where existing members are unable to pay their membership renewal, parents or guardians are invited to approach the Management Committee in writing requesting that the membership fee be waived. The Management Committee will consider each such waiver request and respond in writing to the parent or guardian. In all cases, the request and subsequent decision will remain strictly confidential.
HSC Policy on Succession Planning and Recruitment
All members and parents of members will be encouraged at all times both formally and informally to contribute their time to help operate the Club. Primary responsibility for the recruitment of volunteers will lie with the Workforce Development Officer but all Management Committee members have a responsibility to encourage and facilitate others to volunteer. All open Management Committee positions will be advertised both in the Club Newsletter (Goggles) and on the Club Web site. A relationship with the local volunteer bureau will be actively maintained and the Workforce Development Officer will be required to maintain a relationship with the County ASA Workforce Development officer.
Volunteers will additionally be encouraged to participate in the affairs of the club by making available funding to either subsidise or cover the whole cost of appropriate training courses, subject to Management Committee approval, where the training received will be of direct benefit to the club. Any suitably qualified member wishing to participate in any swimming related forum or committee will be actively supported in so doing by the Club.
