At the Council Scrutiny Commission meeting on Thursday, we were able to speak out on our views
regarding the pool designs at the new Leisure Centre.

We were supported by the A.S.A who represent the whole swimming community, not just competitive aquatics.

We would like to advise our members and the wider community alike that at no time have we ever requested a
£3 million upgrade on the facility to meet our needs. We are asking for alterations to the pools which benefit the wider community, but nowhere near the £3 million price tag as presented in reports, a new centre fit for the purpose of supporting the widest range of aquatics over the 40 year expected life of the centre.

At
the meeting, we have won a slight reprieve in achieving a meeting with HBBC and PFP to talk through our requirements on Monday morning.  This does not mean however that our requirements will be met and for
this reason we ask for further support.

Please show your support by attending. Polite reminder that we should refrain from any heckling during the meeting. Many thanks for your continued support

The full council meeting will be held at 6.30pm on Tuesday 2nd September at the Hinckley Hub.
