The second weekend of County Champs was hosted at Braunstone, a familiar pool for many of our swimmers. It was a monster of a weekend, both in the amount of heats, the amount of swimmers and the events themselves. The viewing gallery was packed, the atmosphere was great; our swimmers did not disappoint. We had 37 finalists across the six 50m and 100m events swam this weekend, with the girls 12years 50m breaststroke final including 4 Hinckley swimmers, Aimee O'reilly, Isobel Weikert-Picker, Leah Trahern and Amilee Birkett, showing how strong we looked as a club. Those brave enough to take on the gruelling challenge of the 400m IM are worthy enough of a mention; Aimee O'Reilly, Leah Trahern, Amelie Birkett, Georgia Beasley, Caitlin Morris, Molly Blazye, Daniel Stockwell, Miles Hatch, Will Beasley and Austin Johns, we salute you! Not only did you take on the Beast you also made it look easy, well done.
There were some truly fantastic swims. Spectators and Coaches saw swimmers wiping seconds off PB's set only weeks ago, they saw nervous swimmers battling it out, sometimes only narrowly missing out on those coveted medals. we also saw lots of smiles, happy swimmers pleased with their performances and that has to be worth any amount of silverware.
